Remember the butterfly baby quilt set here and here,well i am now working on a bed skirt for the queen @dear mummy to be..Have just completed the skirt..

20 inch frill drop on 3 sides..

An attached fitted sheet beneath ..

The fitted sheet is good to fit all mattress thickness to a maximum of 10 inch..

I am having a long rest in curtain making..After the marathon curtain sewing during month of ramadan i am glad orders are piling up for baby baskets for majlis berendoi and baby quilts to welcome the new borns..And here's a peek of a baby quilt which is 90% done....

And in the meantime a baby basket is also progressing well as i have chose the fabric..

The basket is for a baby girl but grandma says to choose earthy tones so that it can be passed over to other grandchildren...hmmm very economical lah...so i will be toying with cream,brown and gold .......And for for starters ,this is done...

New stock,new orders and work in progress..

On the last week of ramadan my humble" store" was almost wiped clean..So the first working  week( after the marathon holiday )was blown away stocking up some diaper stackers,scatter cusions,mini quilts...just to mention a few... 

These are great for gifts during baby showers...

And some new orders taking shape.....

I have been working on this comforter for a couple of days.And now i can sit back and scrutinise closely before handing over to the owner.
Size of quilt: 66x75
Material      :Floral and Car/bus--Cotton from  Dchomel,Taman Melawati,Dotty dots poly cotton from Kamdar..,Plain Red material...cotton from Nagoya...
Total Cost:RM300..

On the main side...

On the other side.....a little patchwork to tone down the stark red color..

The pillows have floral design on one side and.....

2 toddler size pillows,1 bolster and 1 comforter/quilt

Poly fiber inserts are also prettily wrapped in teddy bear printed cotton  fabric..the cheeky bug is so cute!

The reason why i like to use equally sweet fabric for the inner ...??is when the zip just slips away(as of now its done on purpose) the bolster still look greattt...

I am quite happy at how it turn out to be...except for a few strands of loose threads that needs to be cut off ....This toddler"s quilt is ready to be wrapped...

Advice from a sewing machine manual dated 1949

Found this somewhere while blog hopping..i can come to terms with the first para but i could not stop smiling with the rest.....

Friday is the best day of the week..being a public holiday makes it even the bestest...

Oh!pardon my english....My apology also to some friends in GGK on facebook.Although i would love to shop together at the same time i am such an impulsive buyer .My visit this time was so unplanned. So i spent 2 hours at Dchomel .Taman Melawati...and came home feeling jolly good.Look what i brought home...gorgy,gorgy materials to toy with for the next 2 months...lalala

Most of the fabrics that i grab have like novelty prints on them and all baby@children related...animal prints,numbers and figures monograms

Am now dreaming of more baby quilt sets,bags,diaper stackers in the making.......Happy weekends to all my blogger friends..We are all still in the Hari Raya mood ..a lot of open house to attend.Don't eat too much ....

In a stripey loud mood.

If you are bored looking at the simple french pleat curtains hanging at your living area,why don't you transform them into butterfly pleats..no extra costs incurred.You just need a sewing machine,the old curtain and some simple plus and minus maths..

You just need to slide a single hook to hang the ready curtain on the rod.

Back to work in my humble messy studio..

When i close down for the long hari raya break i left the studio in a mess ..too tired to clean up after the overdose of curtain jobs and a bit excited to welcome the long holiday break.And so  today see me tidying up...just my small space.,the rest will just have to wait when the bibik start work tomorrow.My studio looks much better now but my storage room is bloated and i can hardly walk in.....

But i am not going to worry about it as i am now just overwhelm to start my sewing machine running.Look what  spruced up in a day...WITH THE HELP FROM MY ASSISTANT

Reason for the long absence...

Having a blast entertaining and attending open house from close families..Here are some pics that speak a thousand words..

Some pillow covers for Paediatric Ward,HKL

Towards the end of ramadan see me frantically sewing some pillow covers to be donated to children who are cancer patients in the paediatric ward ,Kuala Lumpur General Hospital..Many weeks ago i stumble on a post on facebook regarding this donation  request.which also calls for chemo cap.But today i reached a dead end when i scroll down to get more information about this gracious project.I distinctively remembered that the deadline is in November..But if i start sewing as early as now i might be able to donate at least 50 pieces ..Insyaalah.And for starters about 10 pieces are ready...

For a September Wedding

I am happy to have completed all curtain orders for the upcoming Hari Raya way ahead of time.Am now directing my focus to a close friend son's wedding in early September.She ( the mother of the groom)wants a modern bedding concept....simple,free of lace,frills but charming..a completely male outlook...hmmmm

This set consist of  a duvet cover,4 pillows two square cushions,two rectangle cushions.a fitted sheet and a runner to grace a king size bed.All fabrics are form ELYZA..except the runners are from Nagoya..Total costs  RM1500.

For a close friend who is going to be a grandma for the first time
