An update of my short stay/visit in Muar over the weekend.We reached the ever busy unruly traffic system in Muar town at about 2.30pm.Without a tourist guide and arm with a blur memory of my short work stay many years ago{about 19 years ago}we got lost and drove in circles searching for The Classic Hotel which was previously booked by my eldest son.We finally arrived at our destined hotel at 3.15pm.We have a wedding invitation to fufill..At the same time Muar has a littlle soft spot in me as i have worked here for a rather short while way back in 1991...at that time I was serving The Muar District Hospital and I was pregnant with my youngest child..Thats him in the photo looking at the sorry looking dirty river top up with the messy rubbish ..But the wind was blowing strongly during our breeze walk there..so minus the hot sun ,it was a nice quiet windy walk for us .
This small town has not change much.Nothing much interesting to see.Looking at the crowds in shopping complexes I think the locals do a lot of shopping  in their free time.I say so because there is no decent garden around to go to..I am very fortunate to be living in kl,,where we have sprawling beautiful gardens and parks.But its true that we have to see one's misfortune to appreciate the beautiful things we have in front of our eyes.I am so fortunate!

More roses for the beds...

Which means more quilting to be done.Both fabrics are from NILAI 3,Negeri Sembilan.The pink roses are cotton polyester,while the purple roses are 100 % polyester.Kedua2 kain ini nak dijadikan cadar saiz queen untuk Puan Hajah Ani.Dua set bunga rose unggu tu akan di quilt.Sementara yang dua lagi bunga rose pink akan di jahit biasa tanpa fiber.Puan Hajah Ani suka jual cadar melalui skim "kutu".Sesiapa yang berminat nak menyertai skim kutu bole hubungi saya melalui e.mail .

Look at how a simple bed skirt in soft tone can transform any ordinary room to something truly elegant .As i don't have a bed in my showroom,so this skirt is resting on my work table.But will post a better picture once it gets on the real bed..My ordinary sewing machine can only quilt in simple diamond..So voila..!


That wraps up this week..now i am off to MUAR to attend a wedding and  a short breezy holiday over the weekend....*wink.wink*

Next quilt job is a single bedskirt with lace trimmings for Datin Roekia's guest room.

This plain cotton material{the first 2 photos on top} is  in soft brown.By itself it looks dull and plain.so i am going to jazz up  by adding some lace trimmings at the edges of the skirt frills and also on the pillow frills.Will look dainty and a bit old fashion though.But will definitely look adorable when team up with the floral curtain shown above.

Beddings in cool hues does instil a delicate and soothing ambiance to a room.. On top of that  cotton are easy to maintain and can endure the frequent washing either hand or machine wash.

Dah ade customer menunggu dalam keretenye .My dearest K.Ani just came back from NILAI SQUARE..This lady source all her curtain fabrics from Perniagaan Indah Baru,Nilai Square 3,Seremban.Great bargains there..All will be in simple french pleat.


In the meantime,we have completed the green comforter for Pn.Kharyaton.I am sure she will be delighted *double wink*.What a beautiful Wednesday!....

Remember Pn.Khariyaton who ordered a queen size quilt (in pink floral) with 8 pieces of pillow covers...?she has requested for another quilt of the same size but in plain green .So Thats what i am working on today.Actually the work started yesterdaty.With Shimah's help the quilt is now 80%completed .The four borders will be bind about 1.5 inch thick with floral fabric.The 8 pieces pillow covers were also in this same design.I am posting  the previously done floral quilt just to show how both of this quilts will compliment each other.

A lot of quilted beddings to attend to this week.The first has just been completed,It is a queen bed skirt that comes with 4 pillow covers,2 small plillows(in floral design)and a fitted sheet attached to the bed skirt.The ready queen bed skirt measures 60 inch x 75 inch.The droplength of the skirt is 19 inch.The fitted underneath can fit an 8 inch high matteres..

Lets give the selvadge craft a rest..So on a more serius tone lets see what material came into my shop this morning.

PR 703202 HILLSIDE  ROSE and PL 600612 ROSELLE.This yellow roses with touches of blue will create a  Tango Bells Style Valance for Puan Suzannah.While the night curtain will be in plain brownish yellow in color.

 

PR704602 GREENMARKET.This vege material is for 4 pieces cusion cover for Datin Roekia.I did her 6 pieces chairpad lastweek  in tutie fruitie design.Both fabric have the same yellow colour background.A great way to cheer up an otherwise dull kitchen.

It IS saturday again.I have been hooked on scraps,strings and selvages the whole week long!

Phew....Now i know how contagious this craft can be..I can only blame on my " i can do it "gene..In a hassle to get my first selvage job done i simply clean the edges of the finished 13 inch by 15 inch rectangle piece and its all ready..enough to give me inspiration, courage and patience to go on ..It makes a nice cover on my lappy or even under my plate...hihihi.Nothing much to show..but i am still going to post it here..

I am sooo excited .This piece nampak busy sangat but i kind of like the two teeny weeny berries on the left and right.Let me just get over this excitement before i think of what to stitch it into.I think i am going to be very busy looking up for more selvages to get me through many more selvedge quilt project to come.

Nappy organiser for multi purpose use.

These 2 nappy organisers are for my  good friend Pn.Zaiton.She has 3 lovely daughters.Although originally its for stacking nappies we have diversify the usage depending on where it is hung and the age of the user hihihi... .The top and the base are quilted so as to give it a good shape when it is hung up.It has a 20 inches opening running through the middle for easy storage.Not to worry..the nappy or anything store within will not fall off .It is also practical in the kitchen as it can hold all the plastics groceries for recycle.A fabric with fruits or vegetable design will be ideal for the kitchen.I still have to do another one.Looks clean ....Maybe a bow ribbon on top will compliment the overall look.

The fruits of a scavenger..huhuhu..Heres an update of my selvage project which i have just started since yesterday.

Yesterday i manage to collect pretty much selvages to get me started on the flying geese blocks.While doing this i felt like a scavenger going through the garbage bin looking for some "goodies".Already completed about 10 blocks.I am not too sure what the final product will be.But one thing for sure it is sooooo simple and i  had  a lot of fun gathering the the selvages and arranging them is like a therapy for the mind.But i need loads of selvages to go far and lots of practice though.

I have been patronising a beautiful blog about selvage.....and it has been disturbing my " I can do it " gene...hahaha.

The SELVAGE BLOG  by Karen Griska,United States Of America.Orang2 mat salleh nih memang innovatif and very generous to share and impart knowledge and ideas to the world..Rasanye i dah mengendeng blog dia for the past 3 days...setiap kali i read her blog rasa jam2 tu jugak nak lari ke mesin jahit..Tutorial dia memang crystal clear,senang nak ikut..Bahan-yang digunakan adalah scraps iaitu kain2 buangan..which i have in abundance,bless me.....And i rasa this craft is quite new in Malaysia..tapi kalau ade sesiapa yang dah mula craft ini sudi2 lah kongsi minat..

So today,i have been doing a lot of scavenging in my storeroom which holds all my remnants fabrics including old stock materials which are no longer saleble.Dah siap potong lots of selvages...tinggal nak cantum2 ikut Karen's tutorial..Jiwa saya meronta2 nak mencuba because it is a great way to utilise unwanted fabrics.Dari sekecil2 reja kain setelah di cantun bolih jadi a new fabric.Why didn't i think of that..Never ever cross my mind selvages can turn into beautiful piece of art.I am so inspired by Karen's finished job.My first project will be the flying geese.Thank you Karen for the beautiful easy- to- folow tutorial.You have really inspired me.

Since the weather was so bright and sunny,rasa rugi pulak duduk memerap dirumah.

So,we all pun  jalan2 ke the infamous Plaza GM at Lorong Haji Taib..Most of us living in KL are quite familiar with this  mammoth building..Since it has been awarded by The Malaysian Book Of Records as The Largest Wholesale Market in Malaysia,it is worth checking out.

Biasa lah..mana boleh tahan tengok2 aje!so dari satu kedai ke satu kedai memang tergoda jugak.Macam2 ada...For those yang nak berjinak2 dalam dunia perniagaan bolih lah mula dari sini..Dari accesories hingga lah ke beg,minyak wangi,towel,tudung,kasut2,toys,t-shirts....Tapi being a Sunday,banyak kedai tutup..Kalau nak harga borong you have to buy a dozen or set of six.Tapi  memang berbaloi lah..

As usual.Miss 2 and me memang terperangkap kat accessory begs and gelang2 yang mengerlip2.Layan lah gambar2 yang sempat kami curi2 tangkap..Kene pegi sekali lagi  and attack Level 6 & 7...bahagian baju2 muslimah..Unfortunately they are close today.

Bright Sunny Sunday in my unruly garden

Today the sun crept  through the corners of my curtain at 7.15am.Amboi!!its going to be one d**n hot sunday..and will definitely rain and storm in the evening {i said so quietly to myself}huh...So as for now just enjoy the beautiful sun before it gets too prickly to endure..so come on into my garden...a bit unruly and dry due to the continuous hot day and my laziness to water them.But i just gave it a good shower before taking this photos.I practically soak them{the garden pots,the grass lawn...} for 20 minutes..Ok ke ...kite siram sampai air bertakung2 on the ground??Ini sebab nak lepaskan geram sebab tak siram tiap2 pagi all day last week...so much guilty feelings...well that will take care of my garden as for today.

Percaya tak kalau i kata these babies are made from trash...Semua lebih2 kain yang terlalu kecil untuk buat ape2 tetapi terlalu cantik untuk dibuang begitu saja..And since all material is money  $$$$ to me ,so lahir lah all this cute dollies.They may look all the same cause they share the same smile..But if you look closely they differ slightly from each other.Topi mereka berbeza bentuk nye,Ade yang V terbalik and ade yang bentuk skirt kembang.And each of them bear and alphabet on their hats to give them some kind of identity.Tapi tak nampak lah kan..I think next time kene stitch the alphabet dekat hujung kaki .,baru bole nampak jelas.This idea just cross my mind lepas i post this N3.Takpe ..will do that for the next 5 dollies.Kalau ade sesiapa teringin nak memiliki any of these dollies sudi2 le menanya and meyinggah diblok saya nih..its yours at a special price.!!

Thanx Cik Pah,for letting me post this photo..Actually this table and chair cover was done on puasa month 2009..Dah banyak kali cuci,tapi puan rumah memang cermat jaga .Lagi pun kain ELYZA,memang tahan.I just love the colour combo.
