Its finished..!

Finally done...But first of all take a look at the early stage of quilting this not so neat hexi patchwork...

Mounting the hexi patchwork on to the polyfiber. Earlier,Kamariah had sewn the patchwork on to the plain purple cotton material

Now up on the maachine...

At this stage the underlayer ,also  in soft light cotton material,is being quilt.

Heres a closer look at the underlay in cotton...very soft purple like lilac.Just ignore the yellow guiding lines  made by the tailors chalk.It can be removed easily through washing.

The ready hexi patchwork quilt all wrap up ..ready to leave the shop....

And at the same time more cusions are ready...dah demam buat cusion manggis..

Hari ini dapat e-mail dari DHL Express service...alamak siapa pulak tak terima parcel ekk...

Kesian nye...ade orang tak terima parcel and i am not able to trace the person until i claim the parcel at the DHL office.Kata nye ERROR IN DELIVERY ADDRESS..Huhuhu.....alahai..sabar ya sesiapa tu...

Patchwork yang paling susah untuk di quilt...

 Today i received a long piece of patchwork to be quilted into a comforter.Extimated ready size is 80 inch x 120 inch.Take a look at the pic..

Terpaksa ambil jarak jauh...very blurry..Sampai tak muat lens camera tua nih..Sabar aje  Kak Mimi mencantum patchwork ni for six months.Mencabar jugak nak quilt.This is her third patchwork that i am turning into a comforter..Actually this patchy was started by her student but she had to finish up cos her student gave up halfway through...If you take a closer look you will notice the hexie disambung tak kemas..gelembung sana sini...so kalau quilt memang akan hancur jahitan pasti akan berkedut.But tere are a few yang cantik di sambung rata..must be Kak Mimi's work...pro lah katakan...

So moral of the story..kalau tak de patience and passion in sewing just forget about patchwork kan..Kamariah will be working on this baby starting tomorrow..

This fella has been living under my roof for the past .. .. 15 years....or so...

 Since i started my small curtain business about 10 years ago..Mr Singer ni dah tak mengancam da..hahaha.Bila dah ade 3 high speed machine plus another one yang dah kene hijack by my sister, ( in the name of sister love   i redakan..and dear sister if you are reading this...no offence ya)  siapa lah nak pandang Mr Singer ni kan....jahit sikit dah panas....pas tu memekak pulak..It makes so much noise .  But nevertheless he needs mentioning also because i started building my skills and dream through it..Dia lah yang meniup semangat ingin mencuba dalam diri ini to the maximum...kakaka....But of course when a machine has been neglected for too long ...kite kene lah pujuk dia balik...asyik meragam aje or maybe l have lost touch with the mechanism tu yang jahitan tunggang langgang....Nak tak nak terpaksa buat service jugak..After a hefty service cost,Mr Singer is up and we are making up all the lost time...

I like to do things on this singer  which my high speed machines at my office can.t do like sewimg buttons and a little embroidery work..Kalau jahit butang memang very breeze.But actually lately i suka sekondeng mengendeng blog yang buat embroidery pulak...entah kenapa tetiba teringin  nak cuba embroidery work...maybe i need a little excitement and tu yang cari craft baru to try on..Tapi after a few trys i think i better leave embroidery work to the experts.But nothing harm in tryingkan...and so tengok lah bertapa teruk nye my stitches...or maybe Mr.Singer yang tak pandai stitch....Anyway after doing this i was in a miraculous good mood....talking about sewing therapy.....

And a little voice in me said that.." Give it a try old girl...its never too late to start ". Maybe i will be better off if i trade in Mr Singer for a rrrrrrreal embroidery machine..why not eh!

Malam tadi pergi jalan - jalan kat cyber space and stumble on a beautiful easy to follow tutorial....read on...

Actually cara nak buat this pouf sama dengan cusion manggis tapi lebih senang because bentuknye betul2 round.As usual i  get all my material from my mountain of stash.So that explain why the myriads of colours..hihihi.If you want to try at it just visit ...............

I love making lots of pillow covers and just swapping them out when you need a little change around the room.Throw pillows are a great way to play around with textile especially when you have bits of that and this.No need to burnt your pocket.You just have to incoporate the cute pieces and use a bit of your diy flair and the result is quite impressive..hihihi..Below are some of my pillow projects done from scraps of different fabrics.

Nasib baik masih ade yang lama untuk dibuat " post-mortem "Habis hancur cusion lama dibuka jahitan dan cantuman untuk revision...ini lah tutorial yang paling senang untuk my new staffs.Kalau nak harapkan nota2 memang blur.So jom kite  jamu mata,,,,First take a look at the ready cusion beside the old.....

The new ( gold ) and the old ( blue )..Since Kamariah is more senior she was given the honour to do the post mortem kakaka...and so voila......

Thats all that i manage to snap.When i return to the office at 5.45pm..just before closing...they were all ready and done.Bless me..Tak sempat nak ambil gambar the transformaton work.Bless me also for having such coscientious worker.Rasanye ade ke orang nak tutorial for cusion manggis ni??Kalau ade 10 orang berminat i will post the tut..

Putih salju untuk the pink baby...

The pink ribbons are optional...affix by the button technique..So.Wani nak letak beading ke kelililng?..Bakul still not ready..a lot of fine details to tune up...dibawah dan dalam bakul.Kalau nak letak beading bole antar petang ni ya.

Some curtains for Hari Raya Haji.

Another two weeks before Hari Raya Haji..Ade jugak yang tempah langsir baru kerana tak sempat buat persiapan for the last raya puasa....so here are some  of the ready curtains...

This is for Sharifah's main living.She lives in Kemensah Heights,Taman Melawati.

Yang ini pulak swag and tail in the making.But apparently one set is ready for Siti's window.Kamariah is working another set for the sliding door as shown in the photo above.

It should be hanging on her wooden curtain rod.But as for now one is resting on my makeshift alluminiun trek at my shop just to enable me to check on the pleats.

And lets see what Nurol is working on pulak.Shes my latest staff who joined NYKOLETT earlier this month.Still on the job training.

She is quilting a cover for a swinging baby cot which arrived late yesterday evening.The owner.WANI wants it ready by wednesday for a majlis cukur jambul over the weekend.Such a short notice...*sigh*Looks like both Kamariah and Nurol will have to work on this crib on monday..Lets take a look at the crib/cradle..

Oh yes...comel aje....it will be in white with lacy frills and 5 sets of  pink ribbons will embellish this white beauty...Sempat ke buat ni????.....keeping my fingers cross...

More scraps on the way.....

to Kamila,Ahmad Saifuddin,Hamisah and Hajjah Ahadiah...Semua dah hantar this morning...Lihat lah....Bila dah dapat nanti bagitau ya...takut ,kalau tak sampai kene lah goncang pos office nih.I have added more scraps for every one just to utilise the box to the fullest...baru lah berbaloi dengan postage RM6 hinggit tu hihih..Dont forget to sent me one of your artwork.I love receiving handmade stuffs...

As for Aziah aka handmadebygee....yourrs will be sent on monday cos i just received your e mail pagi ni...

Lepas material scraps teringat pulak my other remnants cording,ruche,laces.....misc..they are all in different colours,size and shapes..ade berambu and ade berbatu...alah pening lah...nak buang rasa sayang...nak simpan tak tau nak buat ape since they are remnants the meterage is limited for cusions and curtains.Come take a look...

But after 30 minutes of choosing and loosening these
entanglements........(ade ke english word for this....hihihi)

 Baru susun 5 longgok dah nak pengsan....baik lah pegi potong kain langsir yang da mula berlonggok untuk hari raya haji..Ade sesiapa sedia membantu saya dikedai NYKOLETT,sila bagi tau ya..Upah nye ialah................ape lagi......more scraps!  kakaka..Kalau dah susun betul2 rupa nye lebih kurang macam dibawah ini..

Begini lah caranye menquilt.Tangan dua tu kene pegang kain and tolak keatas sambil kaki menekan pedal..Model ialah Kamariah ,pembantu khas saya...Bila dah cantum all the quillted scraps and berpandu pada kotak buruk tadi tengok lah hasil nye.

View from the inside.  Kak guna gambar sample curtains from bygone days as stiffener to give shape to the quilted box.This is my first attempt at doing boxes .Ade banyak kekurangan..takpe atleast dapat train Kamariah and let her have a feel at doing quilt boxes..The inner definitely needs to be covered..

Now jom tengok strips of fabric yang tak kurang yummylicious.Siapa nak bagi tau kak.They are great for patchwork.
