Another retail therapy at The Souvenir Shoppe,Taman Melawaty

My initial mission was to collect a parcel at the Post Office in Taman Melawati. After que up for 15 minutes the post clerk told me that the parcel is hubby's credit card and only he can collect it..A small voice in me says "do not despair,go pamper yourself"So i made a stop at the Souvenir Shoppe (oh the devil in me)which is just a stone throw away from the Post office..Oh my!They are having the year end sale.I bought 2 meters of  this tapestry fabric. You can view a ready cushion i made from this fabric at my facebook...

The 8mm sponge batting is so economical..

So sorry ladies,..i am still in high spirits talking about batting. If you are thinking of making cozies for the kitchen i really like to reccommend using sponge .Its cheaper and definitely economical if you are on a slim budget. And the end product is as pretty as using the more expensive 1 inch fiber..

8mm sponge batting measuring 42 inch x 2 meters selling at RM4.50 per piece at Kim Loong,Lorong Haji Taib,Chow Kit Road.

Batting for making comforter

I have written about this topic many times.I would like to share it again especially with Phui San..

Light batting for blanket and interfacing for bag making
1 inch polyester fiber for making comforters..the end product will be fluffy  and much heavier as oppose to the light batting
Two examples of  project using light batting...great for blankets...

And if you opt for the 1 inch fiber....
This is the end product if using a 1 inch polyester fiber..notice the fluffy effect at the borders

On my cutting table today...yummy,yum,yum

I have been staring at this blue hexy since this morning and am still undecided...shall it be a table topper or a bed spread..?

Size of ready pieced hexy is 62 inch x 95 inch
I will still need to put a border all round to quilt and that will fetch extra inches..The border and the backing will be in baby blue, thats for sure....

While my head is trying to decide what it would
be,i better get my hands busy removing the staples and paper pieces. This is the most laborious process in the making of a hexy quilt.Well there is no short cut .I will just have to go with it...

Happy viewing and have a lovely evening..
