Fabric for June Wedding

I have two houses to curtain up for a june wedding. As usual being me  i like to gather all materials a month earlier .Once the materials have reached my work base i will start cutting the fabrics for the night and day curtain first. The valance will take a longer time to cut as i like to study all options that i have before i make the final decision on which pattern to pick.I love doing things in a slow but steady manner and enjoy the fun along the way..

Some of the fabrics have just arrived yesterday evening..All are from TEJANI HOLDING

Getting acquainted..

This machine has been in my possession for almost 2 months. But only today i got around to explore all the functions it has.I love it so much as i  do not have to thread and peddle unlike all the other machines that i have in my work station.Today i had fun doodling with the embroidery functions. And for starters i got around playing with alphabets..

But it is not easy to learn through the manual and trial and error.I just hope i don"t break any needles along the way..

i also made a simple cozy for dear NV50...have a good rest dearest...

Must put a pocket somewhere to hold the plug and small gadgets..and  embroidery my name also maybe..and polish my skill along the way...adeh!kene retas lah nih!

In comfort zone again

It has been awhile since i made a queen size comforter. The thing about making quilts, especially big ones,is that they a little bit time consuming. And when it involves new sewers with no experience,it takes a much longer time than usual. But like it or not work has to be done.So take a look of a comforter in progress.

Just simply quilted in squares of 6 inches for the comforter and 4 inches square for the pillows.

The PELMET@SCALLOP valance....

Actually, being a simple down to earth person, i don't really fancy this pattern as it is a litlle bit
flamboyant..But since the demand is high at the moment so we at NYKOLETT tried  on the pattern and the outcome is quite satisfying.Somehow it makes my small living area looking even smaller...I might have to change the decor on my sofa to rhyme sweetly with the new curtains or else everything will look all messy....clash of too many conflicting colors..
And the bows don't look right.Maybe i should revert the color..the maroon on the outside and the printed fabric on the inside..

Dress up the baby cradle for LYDIA

The cradle came looking like this.

I was given the task of covering the cradle using 5 meters of 44 inches satin  material in soft yellow.

I made 2 bolsters and one piece pillow.

There is a velcro closure on both ends of the cradle

And a fitted sheet below to grip on the body of the cradle.

So the cradle is ready for futhur decor..All yours LYDIA

Curtain design for upcoming hari raya...

During my few visits to home furnishing stores around kl and into some curtian friend blogs and facebook i have got acquainted to this pelmet which is married to the scallop..And what do you get???.....a pelmet scallop valance..the pelmet comes in varied design, but have choose this partcular design as i like the scallop curves on the sides. It is definitely going to jazz up my work station..as i am already tired looking at the old ones..

The pelmet

The scallop

And when combined....

This is my first attempt combining the two valances. All the while is has been just the pelmet or scallop by itself..hope they turn out as planned..stay tune for updates..

This swag and tail was hung on just a wire string...

Customer wants it that way.She did not want to spend anything on the physical structure, just make do with whatever is in store..

the frame of the window gives an illusion that the swag is hung on a rod...what a clever idea...don't you think so??

Salvaged lace from curtain valance

These are laces from curtain valance.I trimmed the laces and recycled to embellish on pillow covers and it finally came out looking so adorable..

Not bad ehh..i am contemplating to trim what ever is left from the same curtain valance and manifest it onto a few more pillow covers..
