A simple chair pad in fruit design.

The first chair pad for Datin Hajah Rokiah 6 kitchen chairs is ready.It is quilted using 8mm sponge to give it the fluffy look.The cotton polyester fabric from ELYZA is treated with scotchguard.The fabric was previously wash and dry so that when it is laundered later it does not shrink.I also attached a string like ribbon to the back of the chair to keep it in place and give it a good fit to the chair...Soooooo simple.Any person with moderate- level sewing skills could accomplish this simple project anytime,isn't it??and definitely save some money.But for those who have extra money to splurge just leave everything to us here in NYKOLETT.It doesn't cost you a bomb though...

Its a beautiful SUNDAY.... we went hunting for wardrobe ....

Since their room has been upgraded,.both Mr, Eldest and Mr.Youngest deserve a new wardrobe.The problem  with  ready made cupboards is they are never up to our expectation.If the size fits,the colour is out..When everyone agrees to one,than it is out of stock.Hmmmmmmm.pening kepala..The 4 posted  here are the shortlisted ones.All 4 passed our preference of  a sliding door as opposed to hinged doors which occupy space. I kind of like the first  with mirrors all round.But being L shaped it looks out of place .
The second one being white and have diamond studded on the horizontal panel is a real beauty.Too bad it comes with a matching bed and Mr Eldest said its kind of girlish..I do agree to that..Maybe i'll get one for myself....But as for now the focus is on them....not me hihihi..berangan aje lah....The third one was a real eye catcher...The colour was shouting..."take me,take me....."It is 8 ft tall,5 ft wide and 24 inch depth.and top up with a real smooth glass door.It 's a real winner.Made of solid heavy maple wood and very spacious interior,top with 2 drawers on each side..Only problem being we didn't like the red colour..So we were given the colour option card..and we all settled for the sky blue tone.So it has to be pre ordered and takes 12 working days before it can be delivered to our doorstep.So much said about wanting and instant wardrobe....there is still a waiting time to put up to!!!Three solid hours of shopping and oggling our mission for the day is finally completed..So we just have to wait till the 27 th March.....

Hati ni berbunga lagi.....lihatlah dibawah*******suka,suka suka sesangat..

Pagi nih,saya didatangi seorang sahabat yang cukup istimewa.Perkenalan kami bermula di NYKOLETT.She was one of my first few customers from way back year 2002 and has been a dear friend since then.She is really a crafty gal.Just give her any rags and she can come up with pretty amazing things.Jiust take a look at the doll she made below....This doll was constructed from scrap fabrics and inexpensive remnants from my store which were too nice to throw.

Sis CT says that making rag dolls is very easy and so much fun.You need not be creative.With just patience,passion and bounty supply of rags she can come up with this old time doll in a jiffy.This doll measures about 13 inch tall and 9 inch wide.It does make a good hug in the arms.This beauty can make great gifts for children.Just engrave the child's name on the hat by simple embroidery stitch and will definitely make a child jump with joy!!Very inspiring..really ticks my crafty heart to try...

SCRAPPY CHALLENGE

Tadi pergi rumah Datin Hajah Rokiah ambil kerusi dapur.

Cantik sungguh kerusi ini.It is made of hard mahagony wood.Berat yang teramat.Nasib baik muat masuk my humble wira.Kalau tengok the wide back rest macam tak bole fit into my car..But alhamduliliah ,it snuggle easily into the back of my wira.Rupa2 nye,Datin nak menyambut kepulangan anak perempuan dari US.Balik bercuti katanye.Siap ukur tingkap2 bilik and katil untuk di ganti langsir and cadar baru.Ape2 pun saya perlu siapkan chair pads for her six kitchen chairs..first...Yes!kerusi yang cantik and nampak mewah ni terletak diceruk dapur.Tapi the original seat is in very soft brown almost to cream colour..Tu yang kene alas dengan chair pad.Datin takut terkene percikan kuah and minyak...sebab memang kerusi ni di wet kitchen.By nex Wednesday  siap lah chair pads nih.

This fruit motif fabric is taken from ELYZA,SUMMER DAIRY COLLECTION.The cheerful yellow,orange and green colour fruitie tuttie material can definitely liven up any old wooden chair .These would be cotton chair pads will be quilted to give comfort  and soften the look of the hard wooden chair.At the same time these chair pads can also add splashes of colour to any ordinary kitchen.As the short school holiday is coming,this chair pad will definitely surprise Pn.Hajah Rokiah's grandchildren and make their meals more comfortable and stylish.

This blue roses with green leaves was brought into my shop by Puan Hajah Ani.About 40meters to dress up her 3 sets of sliding door.All will be in simple french pleat.

APPLE GREEN for Enon's room.

 Apple green is the perfect colour to create a feel of cool oasis in any room.But it does create a dramatic statement.So you must be in a real daring and brave mood to put up with this vibrant colour curtain.

Sekadar melayan angan-angan aje..

Mampu ke memiliki Grand Piano nih??Kalau PIANO ni mampu menjana pendapatan lumayan..ape salahnye.Tapi kalau sekadar mengisi masa lapang aje...biar lah dulu..Many more priorites yang perlu diberi perhatian.So in the meantime Miss 2 ...dream on dear.......

This is a very solid colour sateen fabric. It is dark brown with touches of gold and lots and lots of black.The stripes really reminds me of the zebra,the only difference being theres no white in this fabric. Zebras are white with black stripes or is it black in white stripes????

Anyway,this curtain is going to look very classic in just simple french pleat design.

A witty joke about PINK CURTAIN

Today being a blissful sunday lets give the curtain talk a short rest..While browsing through the internet looking for some kind of inspiration ,i stumble on some funny witty jokes...this particular one is pertaining to CURTAINS.Hahaha...a pink one .....i can never give curtain talk a break,can i?!!!!!Well lets share the joke....

A blonde enters a store that sells curtains.She tells the salesman "I would like to buy a pair of pink curtains "
The salesman assures her that they have a large collection of pink curtains.He shows her several patterns but the blonde seems to have hard time choosing.Finally ,she selects a lovely pink floral print.The salesman than asks what size curtain she needs.

The blonde promptly replies "FIFTEEN INCHES"

" FIFTEEN INCHES ?!" asked the salesman."That sounds very small.What rooms are they for?"The blonde tells him that they arent for a room,but they are for her computer monitor.

The surprised salesman replies "But Miss,computers do not need curtains!"

The blonde says "HELLOOOOOOO,I've got WINDOOOOOOWS!!!"

Cappucino Coffee Pot Cover...

Hari nih kite masih menjahit barang2 sampingan for AIDA's kitchen.Tadi pagi siap sudah penutup coffee pot ini.Tinggal lagi 4 placemats to sew...will keep that for nex week.

TWILIGHT Collection,50% polyester,50%nylon..from TEJANI HOLDINGS

This is not about the love story between Isabella and Edward dalam movie THE TWILIGHT..But this is the newest range of fabric from  

TEJANI HOLDINGS.

It comes in about 10 different tones ,the black leaves with a velvety texture being common in all tones.This velvet texture is akin to deer antlers velvety feel.When touched almost have a fur texture feel. About 15.5 meters came into my shop this morning for a customer who chose this particular motif for his living area upstairs.Lets take a look.....uuuup there!!

This twilight material will adorn his sliding door measuring 133 inches by 105 inches in height. It will be sewn in a simple french pleat.

AIDA's kitchen blind on my worktop....

This is AIDA's roman blind..already ready..But as for now i can only show off the ready job on my worktop..Bila dah gantung nanti will post in this blog.

In the meantime I still have to get the placemats,coffee pot cover and hot pot holder all in matching material ready!!

Another roman blind project.This material reminds me of a typical breakfast in Europe and North America.Cuma gambar roti french toast aje takde,mungkin sebab kain is malaysian made kot......

Terasa2 kopi bila melihat perkataan seperti mocha,boston cream,espresso and with tiny coffee beans scattered everywhere memang terliur..Customer bought this material fom NAGOYA.This roman blind will have scalloped edges and is going to dressup AIDA's kitchen real soon...

Curtains In SILVER Platter....

The colour SILVER evokes sophistication and style.Curtains in silver are very elegant and classy fit for any occasion whether formal as in weddings or the less formal event such as house warming party or even for celebrating Hari Raya.As for these particular fabric( as in A and B } was brought in by Kak Raja Fadillah from AL WEHDAH D'COR & CATERING.Fabric A and B are metallic jacquard.Both fabrics have a glossy surface on one side and matt wave texture on the reverse side.Really suits any kind of home either traditional or even modern interiors.

As for material C,it belongs to Puan Enon from Intan Appartments,Taman Setiawangsa. This organza sheers which was bought from KAMDAR has gold leaves design with a streak of brown lining the edges of the leaves.The brown lined leaves measuring about 9 inches long are arranged vertically spaced about 4 inches from each other.They really look stunning against the gold background.This beauty will dress up her sliding door soon.

At last the RAIN came.

Akhirnye,hujan turun jugak..Alhamdulililah..syukur kepada allah diatas anugerahnye..Hujan yang dinanti2 sekian lama datang sungguhpun hanya untuk seketika..Dua malam turut-turut hujan lebat..Ada pulak tempat yang dilanda banjir tapi tidak membimbangkan.Petang semalam siap dengan angin kencang,petir and guruh.. blackout seketika kat my work station..Maybe this is the end of the El Nino syndrome.??Hopefully lah.
So today lets take a look at another blind.Ini cerita blind cost rendah..Since customer have to maintain a low budget,kite pun guna kain RM8 pm,source from the in famous NAGOYA.The size of this blind is 85"x52".This takes up about 5ms of fabric.This time i fully lined the blind,and yang paling2 teruja nak buat this partcular bidai is the scalloped edges below.Memang payah...mencabar  kesabaran and time consuming..Anyway it was completed in one day with the help from Shimah  my indispensable inhouse tailor.Sila lah jamu mata digambar bawah nih,ya.Sila abaikan benda2 di sekeliling nya dan focus kepada roman blind aje..hihihi.scatter cusion kat atas kerusi tu macam tak kawan dengan blind yang berwarna soft cream tuh..kan..warna lari maaa....Takpe..asalkan tuan rumah bahagia...

No.17 ,Lorong 16 Taman Setiawangsa.

 This curtain belongs to a very dear friend of mine,Puan Hajah Yati, who lives about four rows away from my house in TAMAN SETIAWANGSA.

I think this is the third set of curtain which NYKOLETT had stitched for her.The valance is a hard pelmet while the sheers and night curtains are french pleated.Puan Hajah Yati bought the material from JAKEL and the curtain was hanged just before the puasa month last year.To complement the curtain set we also made about eight pieces 18"x18"scatter cushions as well.The cording for the cushions and the gimp for the pelmet is from LAUREL TRIMMINGS,exclusively form ELYZA.

Roman Blind yang tersengeh sikit

This was my first roman blind project which was done way back in year 2002.So please excuse for  the not so perfect result.Maklum le..baru buka bisness,modal kurang,so main redah aje buat roman blind berpandu buku reader's digest DIY.Kalau nak belajar bebetul dgn cikgu bertauliah kene korban duit RM500.Alahai....baik lah beli kain dengan duit tuh..and then taram aje.Nasib baik jadik le jugak ...off course with some imperfections..one of which was tak letak lining...hihihi.Konon2 nak cepat siap..tak sabar ,budak baru belajar lah

katakan..impatience,excited..blah,blah,blah.Another mistake was it should have been a single long blind instead of two small ones.So takde lah masaalah tengah2 tuh nampak tersengeh, tak bertemu and light peeping through the middle of the window or the blind itself.Am i making people confuse?Sebenarnye,saya dah terpotong pendek,Lepas susun blind tuh i discovered it was rather short.So being creative and using my heart,my hands and my mind,i cleverly { hai puji diri sikit }attached a 4 inch lace below.That took care of the droplength.Lepas nih baru le ade confidence untuk tackle more blind jobs.Will post more successfull roman blind projects in my later N3.

It's Friday!! Already???.....so soon..

This week has been one busy week.Three small projects came rolling in..Only one completed,.Today being a public holiday, so the other two will just have to wait til nex week..Another long weekend. .Malaysia is one prosperous country....indeed!!!Kaya dengan PUBLIC HOLIDAY.hihihihi.After the long CNY holidays,cuti hari nih memang unexpected..Rasa tak puas kerja minggu nih.Memang betul..If you are doing something you love,time goes by like the breeze..Cuma because of the El Nino.,the breezy wind is hotttt and dusty..Top up with the construction noise coming from my neighbour,eeemmmmmm its  going to be one hot noisy, weekend..

Gantung Langsir Dirumah No 8,Jalan Perkasa , Desa Tun Hussein Onn

Pagi2 lagi dah sampai rumah no 8,Jalan Perkasa, kediaman untuk pegawai tentera darat .Rasanye ini dah kali keempat saya bertandang kerumah ni,.dari mula mengukur all the areas yang perlu curtain sampai menggantung langsir yang telah siap berperingkat2. It is a 7 bedded bungalow house. The owner sibuk and kami hanya berjumpa sekali aje that is on the first visit to discuss choice of fabric and pattern curtain.The successive meetings were with his parents, a very senior lovable couple.

Sungguh pun rumah baru dan tak pernah diduduki sekian lama, curtain tracks which was a triple track on most areas were in such sorry state..Semua screw yang memegang "holder bracket" dah berkarat. As soon as curtain was hang,the track gave way.....disaster!!!! Hancur......This happen in 3 areas..Jadik tak siap lah kerja menggantung..My installer ,Mat,could not repair the track as it was quite complicated. Kalau track atas gibson board memang akan mencetuskan masaalah esp.bila installation dari  mula tak kukuh. As Mat was not fully equiped with the right tools ,problem cannot be rectified..Therefore,another visit was arranged at a later date.

So,tinggalkan aje 3 sets curtain yang tak dapat digantung. Kasihan tuan rumah mesti hampa rumah tak siap jugak. Kasihan jugak kat saya,tak dapat nak claim final payment,,,kakaka. Esok cuti Awal Muharram..so nampaknye minggu depan baru bolih finalise everything..
